    Great computer for the price

I've been using this computer for a couple of weeks now and am very impressed. You get a lot of bang for your bucks. The camera isn't great, but certainly gets the job done and it's perfectly fine for apps like Skype. If you want to take good pictures or videos - use a good digital camera! There is no hard drive light and I missed that at first but now I don't miss that at all. Drive speed is O.K. and it's really HUGE. Lots of memory lets me run numerous programs at once. The computer is very fast and responsive. Didn't include a lot of bloatware, and what was included was easily deleted. Plenty of I/O ports and a large touch-pad that works well. Can't say anything about battery life as I treat mine more as a desktop and keep it plugged in all of the time. Very speedy start up and shut down times for Windows 10.... it's a keeper!!

    Acer Aspire Laptop

Wanted a mid-range reliable laptop with good speed, graphics & display, hard drive storage, etc., and so far so good. I've only purchased less than a month ago so I would not expect anything to be wrong with it, and there is not. Easy to set up, solid build quality, simple and attractive computer. It does not feel cheap in any sense and my wife has taking a liking to it over her HP that has had several problems. It doesn't come per-bundled with too many annoying programs, with the exception of McAfee Virus Protection (free trial) that I immediately replaced. All in all two thumbs up.

    i5 :)

This laptop, dual core processor i5 -2.30Ghz, with 8GB RAM running Windows 10 is a Family system that allows everyone to do what they need. Pre installed with Microsoft Office Suite allows work project or school assignments to be performed. There is Skype already to do chat but you can install other apps from the "store" app or via web. A DVD/CD ROM allows other install of software too. Dual speakers exist you multi task on the large 15.6" screen that is bright enough to use in the dark but can be adjusted to be dim. Multi tasking has no lag for what you need to do locally on the laptop. Video streaming is great using Firefox or Internet Explorer as your browser. You can connect laptop to TV through the hdmi port. The keyboard is wide enough for large hands and the available USB ports allows you to connect more peripherals like a mouse or printer. The WiFi connection is great as well the hardwire. Those not familiar with Windows 10 will like the "start" feature that they were accustomed before. If this laptop was touch screen, Windows 10 feature to be tablet user friendly would have been great. Battery life is great. It could last about 8 or even more hours without the power adapter. Maybe longer, if you make power adjustment. For the price, it is a good value purchase for the basic activities that needs to be performed on it.

    Phenominal laptop.

Bought this for my wife for her home computer. My current laptop is a 9 year old Acer Aspire, I bought for $250.00 back in 2008 during the financial crash, and it is still running excellent. So naturally, I wanted to buy my wife the same (newer) model. This thing is 10 stars. I work in IT for 30 years and nothing beats Acer. Her work laptop is a $1600.00 Dell Inspiron, and this Acer is almost just as nice for $379.00. If not for the lighted keyboard on the Dell. This laptop is 4-5 stars for a reason. Buy it and you will not be disappointed. You will not find a nicer laptop for the price.

    Powerful laptop at value price

Bought this laptop a couple of days ago and have been pleasantly surprised. Quick shipping from which is always nice. Screen is nice and large and great for surfing the web, working on documents or just watching a movie. The combination of Windows 10 and 8GB of RAM make things super zippy and smooth -- much appreciated and well worth the extra $ over other value laptops. This is a great laptop for everyone. Very good value considering the specifications!

    Great Laptop

First of all, the title wal-mart has up for this laptop says "8 GB of memory" but it's only 6GB. Which, if you don't do any hardcore gaming, is fine for any laptop user. Anyway, you can easily always just buy more RAM if it's not enough. Personally, I don't use this laptop for much gaming. I only use it for internet browsing and writing. So it works PERFECTLY for me. Haven't ran into any major problems so far. Arrived on time. I'd recommend this laptop!

Great Laptop except for the trackpad

I loved this laptop until Windows did updates. This laptop was so fast and great. I enjoy playing Diablo and this laptop with its integrated graphics, did better than my PC which was a tower with an older intel processor with integrated processer. This laptop has great sound, great screen (for the price, its no Apple Retina display), and was great to use. I have no complaints until the trackpad. When I got the laptop, the trackpad was perfect. It was responsive. Windows did updates and changed a lot of things (I think this was the big windows update for the year I keep reading about). After that set of updates, the trackpad only worked some of the time. I would go to use it and the pointer arrow would go across the screen not to where I needed it to go. I would go to click on a hyperlink and the start menu would open, it was really bizarre. The problem got worse over several hours. I tried updating the drivers for the trackpad and I tried going into the mouse settings to change the trackpad and nothing worked to fix the problem. I tried resetting the computer in the recovery section of the windows settings and that made it 10 times worse! Not only did the trackpad have issues but the computer wouldn't fully turn on. A lot of the apps wouldn't open. I hate to say it but I returned it. This is my first Acer and it was a great laptop until the updates. I am not sure what happened.

    Ok for a basic laptop

We have three Acer Aspire laptops in the family. This is the third one. The previous two were purchased two and three years prior. Each year the build quality and components seem to be degraded somewhat. For example the keyboard on the original (3+ years old) has a better feel, and the prior two have replaceable batteries. This newest Aspire would need surgery to replace the batteries. Also, there is no hard disk activity LED. As a plus, the touch-pad is significantly larger, but I couldn't find a way to easily scroll up or down web pages easily using this pad. Its a single flat surface with the right/left clicks requiring skillful finger placement. Also, you can click anywhere in the touch-pad. If you use other touch-pads, this is quite confusing to become accustomed to. This finger confusion has lead to a few interesting issues such as erroneously moved file directories, highlighting and copying entire webpages, and inadvertently dragging and dropping icons across the desktop. I haven't mastered this improved touch-pad after two weeks, and I reverted to using a standard mouse. My blood pressure has returned to normal. Progress!!! The sound quality is not as full and robust due to the speakers now located on the bottom of the laptop. The case is lighter, and has a less sturdy feel than the previous Aspires. The display is similar to the previous two Apires and is adequate for casual graphics and text use. Windows 10 Home loaded without issues, but presented a huge window of needless adware for games and apps that mostly obscures the desktop. I spent an hour deleting all this bloatware to clean-up the desktop. The look and feel of Win10 is close to Win7, so there was minimal new stuff to learn. I needed this newer laptop for the USB3 and HDMI ports which are a welcomed addition. Aside from the product softening issues, this laptop performs as advertised. It is an acceptable basic laptop that so far performs adequately. At the sale price this is a good value. If you have a USB mouse dig it out of storage while you explore the mysterious intricacies of the huge new touch-pad and enjoy your new Win 10 adware.

this laptop is 6gb not 8gb

this laptop does a good job. however the ram memory is 6gb not 8gb

    Not for gaming

This is not a speed demon. The i5-6200"U" processor is a power sipping, make your battery last longer CPU so it will be to slow for some of the high end games. If you just need to do emails, Facebook, play the Microsoft Game Collection and surf the internet for info, it will be fine for you.
